Only two days to go until we will be jetting off to la bella Italia!!! I cannot wait.
Trying to finish off all of my washing at the moment before I start to pack. The problem I always find on holiday is trying to remain stylish, rather than falling into the trap of not bothering to style my hair or putting make up on or indeed taking much care over my clothes. This holiday I have made a promise to myself that this will be different, that I will not look back on the holiday snaps and think, nice location but who is that??!!
So this is my 'how to... dress with style on holiday'.
1. Sandals. These have been 'in' for a few summers now so it's not difficult to find a stylish pair on the high street. I have a few (four!) pairs of sandals including a tan pair for day wear and a gold pair for evenings.
2. Dresses. Perfect for day and evening and require no effort whatsoever. Zara are brilliant for simple and chic (and cheap) jersey dresses which carry over from day to night. I have two which will be coming with me.
3. Colours. With a tan, colours compliment beautifully. I usually stick to a monochrome palette of black, black and more black at home but on holiday I am going to try to mix it up a little!
4. Embrace your natural hair. This does not mean (as it has often for me) just leaving it to turn into a frizzy mess but instead means that if your hair is prone to frizz, why not take some mousse and scrunch it up for some relaxed curls.
5. Go for the 'no make up look'. Again, this does not mean not wearing make up necessarily; just wearing as little as you can get away with. Today, I got some Boots No 7 Tinted Moisturiser for a little coverage on holiday. I will be teaming this with mascara and a little blusher in the day and adding a colourful eyeshadow for the evening and a coral lippy!
6. Accessorise. Bangles, earrings, pendants all complete the holiday look.
Will be keeping these in mind as much as possible while packing tomorrow!
Will write more again soon, love, SG
