Paris Fashion Week: LANVIN Spring/Summer 2011

Alber Elbaz's collection for Lanvin has been the talk of Paris Fashion Week, so I was intrigued to see what all of the fuss was about. I was also intrigued as to whether this collection might give us any clues to what to expect from the forthcoming Lanvin collaboration with H&M next month.

The collection started by taking this season's colour - camel - and updating it for Spring/Summer 2011:

With long flowing skirts and cinched waists, the silhouette is one that we have seen season after season and seems unlikely to disappear from the catwalks anytime soon. But that is not to say that there is any less of an appetite for it, indeed it is a silhouette that remains current and fashionable and one that we will undoubtedly continue to wear long after it does leave the catwalks.

Tube maxis were also in evidence. I am thinking that the luxurious dusky blue one-shoulder tube dress would be just as right for the coming festive party season as for next season:

Dangerously low-cut necklines were popular too:

The shape might say work-wear but the neckline says sexy evening-wear.

The two looks below are certainly suitable for a glamorous black-tie event:

The jumpsuit on the right, above, is actually making me think about trying one - for the first time ever. It looks so relaxed and yet, elegant too.

A series of red dresses added a splash of colour to the catwalk at Lanvin:

This flowing and asymmetrical silk shirt dress is relaxed and easy-to-wear:

These stunning print looks ended the show:

What do you think of the Lanvin collection for Spring/Summer 2011? Which was your favourite collection from Paris Fashion Week?
