I was just curious as I use EyeTV on my Mac Minis and was curious as to whether a SSD would help improve things. I guess I'll need to consider upgrading to the 2011 Mac Mini too when it comes out.

I liked it quite a bit - it would be nice, too, if Apple could figure out a way to show off its operating system (although that would be nearly impossible to do in 30 seconds!)

Dude... I'm working in an office right now, as a web designer for a very large site. It's all in learning how to work the politics around the office and have people respect you for your contributions and talents.
yeah but you've also got to pick you battles. The website is just a small portion of what I do and this paticular part of it is even a smaller portion of it.There's other things I'd rather focus my energy on.

There are usually pretty descent deals on the refurb store and usually not just one, so I am sure if you wait a while longer you will still be able to get a good deal, if not there are always other online stores such as eBay. BTW how much were you looking on spending?

You're thinking about it in the wrong way. The router isn't actually blocking that if it doesn't work, it just doesn't take extra measures to route the traffic that unnatural way.

..But you never know with Apple - damn them, damn them all!A multimedia iPod would have a the very least a big press conference. And we usually find out about those a week or two in advance. Since there is no keynote in Paris this year, I'd say no video iPod just yet.

Possible but it would seem odd that apple would update the Mac Pro line twice within 2 weeks. I say this because I would expect the Mac Pro to be the first system to get Blu-Ray. Customers who bought the updated Mac Pros since CES would have an even greater reason to feel shafted than the iPhone people did with the price drop.
Apple does not have to offer new hardware.

I'm in the same boat - the nearest Apple Store is over an hour away. Luckily we have two stores near here - Mactown and MacDepot. You don't even have to call Apple first - you can just take it in. A friend of mine near here had her power adapter fry her Macsafe board inside her Macbook. Took it to Mactown, and the next day the board and the adapter were both replaced no charge. Saw the repair invoice that they were billing Apple for and it was over $600. Definitely paid off. :D

Sorry, I meant Oracle have discontinued their Oracle database for OSX.. the last release for OSX was Oracle 10g. Oracle is now 11g.

Agreed - they aren't particularly pretty but since OO v3 things have got better with the use of Aqua. However, I'd rather them look ugly and have them not available on OSX at all...
My objection is that someone who won't or can't bother to put a little polish on an application to make it meet the :apple: HIG, probably won't put much effort into the platform-specific support issues that invariably crop up. Personally, if I wanted to run a Linux application I'd run the Linux OS. But I see where you're coming from.

I think that the difference between the different versions of Pokemon is that each version has a few of it's own 'exclusive' Pokemon monsters. So you need to 'trade' them with gamers who have the other version to complete the set.

Try restarting your machine, FileVault should ask you if you want to optimise, and will then recover the HD space in your Home folder.
I've been using FV for a while, it seem to work fine as long as you remember to point audio and video apps at a external FireWire drive.

I've had no issues with SL like you're describing, including the applications you've mentioned. Remember that crashing issues may or may not be related to the OS... there's as good a chance of the software application in question being at fault as SL.

Hi, I want to put some CD's that I purchased on my iTunes to put on my iPod. The only problem is that I am getting a new laptop soon, my BlackBook is dyeing.)))): Well, so far I have bought all my music on iTunes, but it's so expensive. I bought many CD's like I said, and I'm putting them on iTunes. When I plug the iPod into a new computer, it would ask me if I wanted to transfer my purchases. And everything that I bought would transfer. The songs that I got from other websites wouldn't transfer. But If I import the CD's through iTunes, will it still transfer to the new computer? Or do they have to be bought from iTunes?
