Graduate Exhibitions
It’s that time of year again when fresh graduate talent exhibit their final projects to the world. These shows are fantastic for spotting new talent and are definitely worth a visit.
The London College of Fashion BA Catwalk Show is a must-see for scouting exciting new trends and designers in the fashion world; the Catwalk Show is being held on the Thursday 4 June. Here are some of my favourites below:

Kate Moss' Teen Rebellion
Kate Moss is renowned for her inspirational casual-chic style which is imitated and embraced by followers, designers, magazines and celebrities alike. However, I am struggling with her latest grungy acquisition of several hoops in the right ear.
I love Kate’s style and normally find her choices faultless however try as I may I simply cannot embrace her six new ear piercings! It feels a little too much like a teen rebellion, particularly as all were done in one go.
Kate is applauded for the simplicity and ease of her style and I think she ought to stick to what she does so well.

Going Floral at Chelsea
Dust off your floral prints and panama hats as the British summer season has officially begun with the quintessentially English Chelsea Flower Show this week.
The gardens were masterpieces of design and my particular favourite was the Laurent-Perrier garden (below) for its minimalist, clean lines and stunning avenue of yew and hornbeam trees. The garden explores the relationship between architecture and nature and was designed by first-time Chelsea designer Luciano Guibbilei. Best in show went to the contemporary Daily Telegraph garden (second below), by Swedish designer Ulf Nordfjell, with a beautiful courtyard mixture of wild flowers and grasses, and the People’s Choice Award went to Chelsea veteran Robert Myers for his ornamental Cancer Research garden (third below). Also James May's (yes, the one from Top Gear!) unconventional plasticine garden was a huge hit with all (fourth and fifth below).
The show was also extremely popular with celebrities and behind every hedgerow and flowerbed was another A-lister, from Stephen Fry (my personal favourite – sporting such a beautifully cut suit!) to Joanna Lumley, and Sienna Miller to VV Brown (who has inspired me to order her floral number below from Asos.com) and many more. Sienna Miller, who worked the casual-chic look to perfection with flat boots and an oversized handbag, was overheard saying that she’s love a rose to be named after her, maybe next year…
The show was lovely day out and it has inspired me to get growing, in a window box at least, I’d definitely recommend it!

Credit Crunch Crop
The credit crunch is creating lots of sensible and wholesome trends which your mother would be proud of, from customising your existing wardrobe to shopping for recycled/second hand clothes and learning how to bake. One of the big trends that has caught my eye is the credit crunch crop.
Forget a haircut every six weeks, the credit crunch crop is all about getting your hair cut much shorter into bob/pixie/crop so that you don’t need to visit the hairdresser for the next couple of months while it grows out. Katie Holmes and Alexa Chung are the style pin-up girls for this look.

Q&A with Style Queen Chanel Ward
The latest T-Shirt and Tails interview is with the fashionable blogger Chanel Ward. Chanel incredibly runs six blogs including the ever-popular Hip Candy which I highly recommend you consult on a daily basis. Read on to get a stylish insight from this bright young thing.
Q. What tips would you give to any budding blogger?
Keep at it! Don't give up! When you first start out blogging, it's hard because you feel like no ones reading, but if you're continually putting out great content, then your readership will flourish.

A. Lately I've been checking "The Cut" blog, the Huffington Post, Style.com, Elle.com and People.com pretty consistently.
Q. What are your big fashion predictions for the forthcoming year?
A. My big fashion predictions? Wow. Well from what I've seen this year so far, trends haven't been so quick to fall by the wayside. Take for instance, florals, bright color, metallics were all huge trends in '08 and they've made a comeback on the '09 runways. So I think in effect, we're hanging on to what works a little longer and I think that's a good thing.
Q. Who is your style icon?
A. Here lately I'd have to say Michelle Obama. Because even though her style is much more conservative than mine, I can definitely appreciate her polish. Good polish in dressing, whatever your style, is always something to aspire to!
Q. What is it that you like about blogging?
A. The thing I like most about blogging is probably the freedom of it. It's not like working at a magazine, a blogger has full editorial control and that is quite liberating.

Recycled Fashion
Recycled fashion is everywhere at the moment and it offers the perfect opportunity to cleanse your wardrobe and pick up unique second hand treasures whilst helping the environment at the same time. Oxfam are heading a new campaign entitled 'Sustain Me', collaborating with the likes of Heidi Klum, Sophie Ellis-Bextor and Jourdan Dunn (see campaign ad below). It urges women to donate their unwanted items to a good cause rather than letting our mountain of unwanted clothing continue to increase in size.
Also, fighting for the cause is the textile charity Traid who are launching the recycled fashion label 'Traidremade' with a store on Camden High Street opening at the end of May. Get recycling now.
Cos
This weekend I had an enlightenment; I discovered Cos, and it was beautiful! After spending so many months being disillusioned by the British high street, going on endless shopping trips and coming back empty handed, I now realise that everything I was looking for was under one roof. Check it out for yourself and see below for some S/S09 pieces.
Cos has a great mixture of chic minimal clothing, which is very European in its clean lines and classic tailoring, and smart casual items which are perfect for work wear and the British summertime. I returned from my shopping trip with the dress below amongst others.
I realise that this is a very late discovery in the fashion world as I have been hearing rave reviews about Cos for a long time. However I didn’t realise it would be this good. The items are affordable, practical and chic, and will serve as prefect wardrobe staples.

Guilty Pleasure: Come Dine With Me
We all have our guilty pleasures, things that are so bad that they are good. Whether that may be a shopping spree on payday, having a secret crush on Philip Schofield (รก la Peaches Geldof) or listening to Take That circa 1990s. I have to confess that my current guilty pleasure is the television programme ‘Come Dine With Me’. I love everything about it; the narrator with his awful jokes, the succession of badly cooked food and the arguments between the dinner party guests, it has got me hooked. The celebrity episodes often send me into frenzy. It’s car crash television at its best.
