Converse: Fun in the sun

Taken with my Samsung Wave II and edited using the Magic Pen app.

Do hope you're all enjoying the lovely sunny weather this Easter weekend. And to all of my English readers, happy St George's Day.

Tell me, what are you up to in the sun?

Converse Press Day S/S 11

Last night I headed to the Converse press day
to see what they had on offer for S/S 11.
Every fashionista has a pair of Chuck Taylor's in their wardrobe
so I was intrigued to see their new styles to expand upon my collection.
The space was great and the presentation of the shoes was really imaginative,
from shoes hanging from the ceiling to sat on elevated chairs.

Anyone know the way to the WC?

The collection looked great, however in my opinion,
I don't think that the classic Chuck Taylor's can be beaten in the style stakes.
And who can argue with such devotees as Paul McCartney,
Jimi Hendrix and, the first lady of fashion, Michelle Obama.

However, the main highlight for me was the food.
Guests enjoyed typical American comfort food
from Moorish macaroni and cheese
to the perfect pastrami on rye this side of NYC.
It was such a perfect brand match - well done Converse!

Style Inspiration: Converse trainers Part II

My new Converse trainers arrived!!!! And the minute I put them on at lunchtime, I just knew that they would not be coming off my feet any time soon:

I promise some much better photos very soon!

In the meantime, take inspiration from fellow blogger extrordinaire and Converse wearer, The Style Crusader:

My recent obsession with Models Own's Lilac Dream (which coincidentally was introduced to me through this post by The Style Crusader!) encouraged my decision to invest in a lilac/purple shade of Converse trainers.

What do you think of the trainers? With the dress? (The boyf wasn't too sure!)

All winter I have lived in my ankle boots but now, as the weather gets warmer I am faced with the problem of what to slip my feet into so that they are not boiling. And my answer? Converse trainers.

Recently all of the photos in my "inspiration" folder have been girls in dresses/skirts and Converse trainers. And you know what? I love the look. And I plan to incorporate it into my Spring wardrobe, just as soon as my new lilac Converse arrive.
