Mani of the Week: Boots 17 Twilight Teaser

It is not only Nair that I have to thank for making sure I am ready for my holidays at the end of this week, but also the lovely people at Boots who sent me a few bottles from the new Boots 17 Supreme Shine collection:

Now, I still haven't decided which colour I will use for my weekend away - although I am thinking something dark and glamorous, like Spiced Plum for my toes and something bright, like Miami for my finger nails with the Crackle Top Coat that was also sent to me. Of course, I will keep all of this for another week.

This week, I have mostly been rocking the subtle tones of Twilight Teaser:

The colour, after one coat, is pretty opaque but I like that. However it can be built up with another one or two coats. It certainly lasts well - this has been on all weekend and endured some pretty hardcore cleaning and is still in tact.

What colour do you wear on your nails on your holidays?

Beauty review: Quickies Nail Polish remover wipes

Bottles of nail polish remover are without a doubt the best way in which to take off that five day old chipped manicure. But when on holiday, another bottle of liquids is just not going to make it into my already over stuffed toiletries bag, so instead I like to take nail polish remover pads. I've tried a fair few in my time too. Recently I tried Boots Conditioning Nail Polish Remover Pads. Cheap they might be, but effective they most certainly are not. It took me two pads to remove the polish from one nail! So move over Boots' Pads and make way for Quickies Nail Polish Remover Pads. These are a little more expensive and the box is slightly bigger but it took me just two pads to remove the polish from both hands! Now that's some hard working pads! And they'll last more than one manicure.

Which brand would you recommend for removing my weekly mani?

Mani of the Week: Models Own Blooboo and Nail Art

Another piece of pastel polish perfection from Models Own: Blooboo. It doesn't get better than this... Or does it?

How about if you add Models Own in Lilac Dream?

How good does that look?

To add a little something extra to this week's mani, I used Gem Fatale's tip for creating spots, using a cocktail stick:

Mani of the Week: Models Own Lilac Dream

This is officially the colour of Spring: Models Own in Lilac Dream.

What colour are you wearing this season?

Mani of the Week: Boots 17 Sea Breeze

What a gorgeous colour, no? I love love love this colour from Boots 17 in Sea Breeze.

BARGAIN TIP: Boots 17 cosmetics are currently 3 for 2!!

Mani of the Week: Models Own Snow White

Looks a little like tipex maybe? But I love the colour of Models Own's Snow White.

What do you think?

Mani of the Week: Chanel Gondola

Whilst at home at the weekend, I decided to raid my sister's nail polish collection and decided upon this: Chanel's Gondola. I love the rich pinky red hue and the added glamour of the tiny flecks of glitter in the polish.

What do you think of the colour? Do you have a favourite nail polish or do you like to mix it up?

Mani of the Week: Chanel Black Pearl

Style.com

Another season and another new limited edition Chanel nail polish. For SS11 the colour is: Black Pearl. As seen above on the catwalk last October in Paris.

Super Stylish Sis and I are quite the Chanel nail polish addicts: everytime there is a new polish out, I am dispatched to my nearest Boots or John Lewis to pick up a couple of bottles! Well, last Friday was no different.

Like many of Chanel's polishes - and something which seems to make them impossible to copy completely -Black Pearl seems to almost change colour in different lights. By turns it is a green-black and by others a steely blue-grey-black.

What do you think of my new favourite nail colour?

Style Inspiration: Rainbow Nails

Been feeling a little bored with my nail polishes recently (bring on next Friday when Chanel's new polish, Black Pearl, is released!), so when I saw this post over at A Pair and a Spare I couldn't help but feel inspired!!

Before heading out to the cinema last night - to watch 127 Hours (which is amazing - Danny Boyle is a genius!) - I decided to gather five of my most favourite muted coloured nail polishes and give myself a "rainbow manicure":

I am wearing: Models Own in Grace Green, Vintage Pink and Champagne; and Eyeko in Jade Green Vintage Polish.

Mani of the Week: Boots No7 Betty Blues

This week's nail colour comes courtesy of Boots No7 Stay Perfect Nail Polish in Betty Blues.

The colour is a rich navy blue with a high shine. Two coats make it opaque and will make it last longer too.

If you've not tried Boots No7 polishes before, make sure you do, as they are affordable and yet long lasting and offer a fantastically wide range of shades.

What colour polish are you wearing this week?

Mani of the Week: Boots No7 Siren

I have been coveting the Chanel nail polish in Dragon that Pink Bow wears and so when in Paris in October I thought it would make the perfect souvenir but alas, they were all sold out:

On my return I decided to treat myself to a nail colour from Boots No7 with my £5 voucher and so set upon this colour - Siren - which is very nearly the same shade of red.

What do you think? Can I pass it off as Chanel?

Mani of the Week: Models Own Vintage Pink

I LOVE this Models Own polish. The colour is subtle and sophisticated. The consistency of the polish makes it easy to paint two think coats.

I also think that it looks a little like I image Chanel's Khaki Rose to look that I missed out on a couple of months ago:

Mani of the Week: Models Own Champagne

I got an amazing parcel in the post a couple of weeks ago. Five nail polishes from Models Own. I took advantage of their offer of £7 off when you buy 5 polishes. This is the first of that parcel that I decided to try out.

This is such a party season shade. And named Champagne, it automatically gets me in the party mood. The sparkles only help to increase the festive flavour of this polish.

It looks a much more silver in "real life" rather than the gold undertones in the photo. It was ultra fast drying and I managed two thin coats which I am hoping will see me through to the weekend.

Have you tried Models Own's huge selection of polishes? Did you know that they have recently launched a collection of nail art pens in collaboration with WAH? I have to wait till pay day to treat myself but as soon as I do, expect a review!!

Mani of the Week: Eyeko Nude Polish

Got this Eyeko polish in Nude a couple of weeks ago and have been wearing it ever since. It is perfect for elegant and neutral nails.

Have you tried Eyeko yet?

This was all in my first order and I was surprised at how fast they delivered my order and the delivery was free too. And they even give you a free gift if you spend over £15.

Remember that if you are planning to make an order from Eyeko, please use my Ambassador code: E11308.

Mani of the Week: Topshop in Sunset

I wasn't sure about this one when I first got it earlier in the summer but after putting it on a few days ago I am actually starting to love the sparkles.

What do you think of this Topshop nail polish in Sunset?

As this was a limited edition for summer, it is unfortunately no longer available. But I have found a very similar shade - with sparkles - from Eyeko: try their Chi Chi polish for Girlie Nails. While you're at it, if you make an order over £10 this week, you get Eyeko's Vintage Polish for Elegant Nails for FREE. It is a lovely pastely jade green shade. And please don't forget to enter my Ambassador's code - E11308 - so that while you get your FREE polish, I get a little commission too. Thank you.

I have noticed that I wear a lot of red and pink polishes but have found that this can pose problems in that when wearing red polish, I can't really wear pink and vice versa. Do you find you have this problem or do you just go with it?

Eyeko Ambassador: Help Me, Help You

I'm sure you can't have failed to see the Eyeko banner in the right-hand column of the blog recently? Basically, I only discovered Eyeko's products recently but I have been impressed with those that I have used so far, remember last week's Mani?

Eyeko run a fantastic Ambassador scheme which means that if you shop with them online and enter my Ambassador's code - E11308 - at the checkout, not only do you get some fabulous goodies but I get a little commission too. Plus, for every order over £10, you get a free gift!

I am particularly loving this London Look nail set at the moment:

Watch this space for more Eyeko product reviews coming very soon. But in the meantime, why not treat yourself to a cheap and chic Mani?

Mani of the Week: Eyeko Red Hot Saucy Polish

There is nothing better than a classic red polish, for me. It goes with everything and looks classy as well as a little retro and rebellious. This red from Eyeko - my first experience of using Eyeko make-up - is just the true brick red that I prefer, I'm not too keen on blue or pink undertones on a red.

One coat of this polish is opaque - so if you're in a hurry, it's great for a quick polish. It dries quickly and you can paint one coat on as you dash out of the door and it'll be dry by the time you get to the bus stop!

I'd still add a second coat later if you want longevity from your polish as two coats will keep it chip free for longer.

You can find the Eyeko Red Hot Saucy Polish on-line at Eyeko. And if you use my Ambassador's code (in the left-hand panel) when you make an order, you'll help earn me a little commission and also a free gift for yourself, so I'm told!

It's not just nail polish that Eyeko do, indeed I have been checking out their make-up selection and came across this cream that sounds just the sort of multi-functional make-up that one needs for travel:

Eyeko Tinted CreamFor radiant skin and a sun kissed glow try NEW Eyeko 3-in-1 Tinted Cream. Treat skin to the same luxuriously whipped texture made with super hydrating Jojoba boosted with antioxidants Vitamins A & E plus Vitamin C for a luminous finish as our No.1 bestseller Eyeko Cream:

Of course, let me know if you buy anything and what you buy!

Mani of the Week: Models Own Slate Green

This is such a fresh colour and yet not too bright, which I like.

This is the first time I've used Models Own polish and I like the texture and the way it goes on. Went on very evenly, although very sheer on first coat and still a little with two coats as it is a pretty watery texture. Lasts longer with more coats though so no bad thing. And so far it has lasted through some vigorous cleaning of my apartment, a fair few washing up sessions, a hand wash and four days of work. Not bad for £5. Not bad at all.

Mani of the Week: Rimmel LYCRA in Celebrity Bash

This week I am loving Rimmel's LYCRA in Celebrity Bash which is a lovely Autumnal berry shade.
